Welcome Friends and Fans,
Walpole is the home of one of the most successful high school football programs in Massachusetts. The tradition began decades ago with the Hilltoppers and transformed into ‘Rebel Pride’ with a long-awaited league championship in 1969. Since then, we have captured an astounding 20 league championships, 7 Super Bowls and a State Championship. In 2008 our team went 13-0 capturing the Division 2 Super Bowl championship at Gillette Stadium.
Rebel Pride continues with another group of Rebels who share the same energy, desire to compete, and drive to continue this tradition of excellence.
‘Rebel Pride’ extends beyond the football field. It promotes the ideals of scholarship, sportsmanship and citizenship. It develops the virtues of self-discipline, concentration, leadership and sacrifice. Rebel Pride captures the heart of not only the players and coaches each week, but a community committed to its youth.
The Gridiron Boosters is committed to help keep Rebel Pride and its tradition of excellence alive. With diminishing public funds, the Gridiron is charged to raise tens of thousands of dollars each year to provide the necessary tools to compete at the highest level. Although most of the burden falls on the players and their families, we are very fortunate for the generosity and support exhibited by many local businesses, friends and alumni during our fundraising activities.
We are grateful for the continued hard work and the fortitude of the Friends of the Walpole Community Athletic Complex and their efforts to deliver a first-class facility to Walpole. Phase 1 was completed in 2008 and the project is in Phase 2 seeking donors for the installation of permanent lighting. Visit www.walpolefields.com for the latest information on this project.
We extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to all of you and wish the team the best of luck in 2010.
Go Rebels!
